Seagull-wing lips are considered to be a variant of lips that are difficult to correct with hyaluronic acid fillers.

The essence of the problem in this case is that the upper lip has almost no vertical profile (thin upper lip), which is why the red border is hidden, and when open, the lip has two arcuate retractions relative to the upper lip tubercle, which resemble the wings of a seagull. Anatomically, this is due to the fact that the labial part of the circular muscle of the mouth in this type of lip is hypertonic and tucks the red border inward.

This patient's case is also complicated by the presence of a mild degree of gummy smile, which appears due to excessive contraction of the muscle that lifts the upper lip and wing of the nose and the small zygomaticus muscle. The patient signed an informed consent to photographic recording of the results of the procedures, as well as an informed consent to the use of off-label botulinum neuroprotein.
